Association of Municipalities Jablunkovska received grants for three projects from cross-border microproject fund of Euroregion Těšín Silesia operating program cross-border cooperation Czech Republic-Poland

                                          Trojmezí - a turistic map of the border region

Trojmezi is a specific place where borders three countries meet: the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia, specifically viilages Hrčava, Istebna and Čierne. In 1990, conservationists from these three countries planted a lime tree as a proof of friendship of people of the three neighboring countries. Trojmezí attractiveness increased after all the three countries joined the EU and there was a significant increase in cross-border tourism in this area. This has affected the need for promotional materials, especially maps showing the three countries, and also increased the demand for them. Trojmezí first map was published in 2000 in 30,000 numbers of copies and its processing was secured by Association of Municipalities Jablunkovska (SOJ) - Phare Credo program. Entire load is already gone and the demand is still high. The uniqueness of this map is that you no longer need to have three maps but only one is enough when you travel in the border area.

Association of Municipalities Jablunkovska together with the village of Istebna (PL) put an application for grant into Fund of microproject of the Euroregion Těšín Silesia - Operational Program CBC Czech Republic - Poland project of type "A" entitled "Trojmezí - tourist map of the border area; Trójstyk-map Turystyczna pogranicza. At the same time they concluded a partnership in implementing this project, in which the Association of Municipalities Jablunkovska is known as the lead partner and Gmina Istebna so called partner. The uniqueness of the project "A" is the joint funding of all costs of the lead partner and partner, the grant is sent by the provider of grantsafter a successful implementation to a leading partner. The relevant part of the grant is then transmited to the partner. This form of cooperation with the financial involvement of a foreign partner is for our association a novelty and also a test of a longtime cooperation.

 

The reason for realization of this project by a joint Czech-Polish team and external experts from the CR, PL and SK is to prepare all map data, process them, issue and distribute the current load of a map of Trojmezí in 20.000 numbers of copies. We expect the release in June 2009 so that it is available for the visitors and tourists during the summer tourist season. A published map of the border is an interesting and useful promotional material for both tourists and local residents and contribute significantly to the promotion of Euroregion Těšín Silesia and its attractions.

The total project cost is 17,635 EUR of the Czech part of the project is 9.174 EUR and the Polish part of the project is 8461EUR :

• MTB Beskydy - creation and promotion of cross-border routes MTB - BIKELAND GOROLIA

  Project "MTB Beskydy" is a new tourist product aimed at the active tourism on Czech-Polish border with an emphasis on mountain biking (MTB). The reason is the further development of cooperation in border areas to develop and promote cross-border MTB routes and develop tourism in the Euroregion  Těšín  Silesia. The project builds on the realized project of Istebné (2007, Interreg IIIA CR-PL, FMP), which will be developed in the area of Association of Municipalities Jablunkovska and in Ustron so that tourists and local cyclists from the CZ and PL have enough information about appropriate routes for MTB and so that they can spend holidays with high-quality programme.
  
  The project builds on the project Regiotour Euroregion TS (2000). The result of the project will be a study of development  of MTB cycling trails Bikeland Gorolia, which will include a review cykloturistic marking, mapping options for off-road cycling routes and a proposal of suitable routes sfor MTB. Routes will be classified. Six information boards will be constructed and installed, places copmlicated to orientate in will be identified. It will not be continuous marking of the routes, but the basis will be 2000 pieces of printed maps for tourists and a website building on the Polish one of the same name. The route will be mapped, accompanied by descriptions and GPS. The new product MTB Beskydy card will be valid on both sides of the border and will provide to MTB tourists availability of facilities that are cyclists friendly. The card will consist of identification card and leaflet about the project and facilities friendly for cyclists. Together with Polish partners a system of services certification for cyclists will be created and certified institutions will be marked. Now there are not certified institutions, the implementation of the project will try to actively involve businessmen and improve services for cyclists in the Euroregion TS.
  
  During the project there will be joint Czech-Polish meetings of working teams and experts working on MTB. The project will start in Ustron by mountain bike race at  ROWNICA and it will be finished by a joint workshop in the CZ, where a new tourist product MTB Beskydy will be introduced.

Trojmezí for tourists - to build tourism infrastructure at the Czech-Polish border

A project "Touristic Trojmezi" is a continuation of activities undertaken by the Association of municipalities Jablunkovska (SOJ), together with the Polish and Slovak partners on the construction of cross-border tourism infrastructure in Trojmezí, meeting place of three borders: the Czech, Polish and Slovak.

The project responds to the needs of the increasing tourism in this area and addresses the problem of lack of tourism infrastructure suitable for tourists in the border area. SOJ  continues in the project further equiping of Trojmezí construction of covered sitting areas with fireplaces and benches for the tourists, which is the output of survey Future of Trojmezí, SOJ processed in 2003 under the PHARE CBC program the CZ-PR. Covered seating will make a short time sitting more comfortable with a possibility of overnight stays, regardless of  the weather. The shelter will also be used to organize meetings same like the amphitheater  Pod Skocznicą in the village Istebna.

In addition, the project includes a wide joint promotion of Trojmezí as a new tourist product. Another promotional activities are manufacturing and installation of four information boards, 2 pcs in Poland and 2 pcs in the Czech Republic, 5000 pieces of promotional materials and 2000 pieces of promotional postcards. These activities will be undertaken in cooperation with Polish partners, the greater part of the cost of promotional activities will have the Polish partner within its budget.

The project is complementary to the related Polish project: Trójstyk dla turisty - budowa infrastruktury turystycznej i promocja Trójstyku - etap 2.
