Trojmezí - tourist map of the border area
Association of Municipalities Jablunkovska with Gmina Istebna launched the project "Trojmezí - tourist map of the border area" in November 2008 in order to issue 20.000 new maps of Czech-Polish-Slovak meeting border areas at a scale of 1:20 000. The project received a grant from the resources of the micro project funds Euroregion Těšín Silesia - Śląsk Cieszynski Operational Program CBC Czech Republic - Poland 2007-2013. The project was completed in September 2009.
The cost of the project are as follows:
Association of Municipalities Jablunkovska: Total: 9174 EUR, own contribution of SOJ: 1380 EUR, grant (EU): 7794 EUR (85%)
Gmina Istebna: Total: 8461 EUR, Gminy own contribution: 424 EUR, grant (EU): 7191 EUR (85%), grants (RP): 846 EUR

From the life of the project ...
The project team met regularly during implementation, alternately on the Czech and Polish side.
Opening of the project - project team meeting (PT) 5.12.2008 in the office of SOJ in Mosty u Jablunkova. A revised timetable for the project was agreed and the steps of implementation were specified at the meeting.

On 20.1.2009 a meeting took place in PT Jablunkov in order to prepare a joint workshop on 27.1.09 in Istebne (ensured Polish partner). A preliminary list of attractions for the back side of the map was made, the companies which can produce maps were suggested and the presentation for the workshop was prepared.
At the joint workshop on 27.1.09 in Istebne 4 companies were "recommended" to be addressed for the implementation of this contract, while the two partners agreed on a common selection procedure: each partner addressed 4 same companies (2x a 2xPL CZ), the partners jointly prepared specifications and selection took place at a joint meeting on 23.4.2009 in Istebna. The company Compass from Krakow was selected with the cheapest offer.

30.3.2009 - PT met for the completion of the proposed attractions during the workshop in Istebne and to agree on how to proceed further - for a final selection they met with the participation of an expert, which SOJ selected on 31.3.09 and expert in Kysucký triangel which was suggested by Slovak Mayors - Vladimir Pekár was invited too.
At the meeting of PT 6.5.09 in Mosty u Jablunkova with representatives selected firm Compass Mr. Gregorz Wamberskiego a range of texts prepared for the map and the number of photographs were discussed. At the meetings experts from Czech, Slovak and Polish side participated and they introduced texts and selected photos. Together with a representative of Compass they have corrected their scope and distribution on the back side of the map.

At the meetings on 19.5.2009 and 3.6.2009 in Istebne negotiations took place regarding the distribution of texts, photographs and map corrections. On 16.7.2009 the meeting in Mosty all map experts had a hard time: the final proofreading the entire map was planned. After incorporating of the corrections the map finally went to press.
31.7.2009 The new map was launched directly at the three border meeting point. We used the events of another SOJ project - opening of a new tourist shelter, which attracted many pedestrians and cyclists. So together with barbecue goodies from the new grill and typical "istebňanským" cakes they all have received a brand new map.
3.9.09 PT event took place in Mosty u Jablunkova aimed at the date of final approval of the workshop, a list of invited and invitations and preparation of the agenda. Given the fact that the new map launch took place on 31.7.09 at Hrčava the opening of the new tourist shelter, the partners agreed that the main part of the presentation will be devoted to presentation of the main attractions Czech-Polish-Slovak border and activities at the border.
17.9.09 The final workshop took place in Jablunkov, it was attended by 35 people. At the WS the project and its implementation was presented, the presentation of Slovak, Polish and Czech border took place - the experts who prepared the maps presented the biggest attractions in the vicinity of the three border meeting point. In conclusion, the further joint projects and activities of Trojmezí were introduced.
Map of Trojmezi is currently available in the information centers in the region, it was presented at the exhibition in Katowice and in 2010 the Association of Municipalities and Jablunkovska Gmina Istebna will offer it to the visitors of the international trade fair in Prague, Brno, Ostrava, Katowice, Lodz and Warszaw.
