Jablunkov walk

The starting point is the Mariánské square with its Baroque statue of the Virgin Mary Immaculata (from 1755) and its fountain:tour of  square, burghers' houses - Museum of theTěšín Region (regional exhibitions) - Jablunkov Town hall in the Viennese style (1903-05). 

 

 


 

 

 

 

Jablunkov - Nature of Jablunkovsko: 8 km

 The path is located in the territory of the town Jablunkov. On the nature path in the length of 8 km are located 10 information board  from which you can learn not only about the flora, fauna and waterways of Jablunkovsko region, but it is an introduction to the history of the town of Jablunkov,  Alžbětinky monastery and Jablunkovské sanatorium. The path is suitable for hikers, families with children and cyclists. Sometimes you need to lead your bike. The educational path was implemented in the partnership project with the town Wisla "Jablunkov - Wisla on cross-border tourist routes. This project is financed from the operational program of cross-border cooperation Euroregion TS - SC.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Arboretum: 4 km

Go on for 500 m along Alej míru (towards Slovakia), on the other side of the bridge over the Ošetnice river is the entrance to the lung sanatorium. Tour the sanatorium grounds (park) with its statues by Jan Tříska and Vincent Makovsky and the Arboretum with 350 species of trees.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Along the river Olše up to a horse saddle

Go past the town hall to Školní street, where the impressive former Lorenczuk villa is located (1905), the former court building (1911, now a health centre), and the Polish-language primary school (1927). Školní street leads onto the main road to Poland. Go upstream to reach the "Ameryka" recreation park, which offers visitors an open-air swimming pool with toboggan, rope climbing centre, green golf course, restaurant and bowling. After refreshments, carry on past the swimming pool along the side road. Turn left after passing the playing field, where the road ends in a few metres at the entrance to the Beskyd Horse Riding Club: tour the stables or arrange or arrange a ride for a pleasant end to this stroll through Jablunkov. 
 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Other options

Jablunkov is the starting point for hiking routes to Kozubova, Stožek, Bahenec a Gírovou. The routes lead from Mariánske square together with a cycling route which forms the backbone of the Czech-Polish network of cycling routes within the Těšín Silesia Euroregion.
