It lies in the Jablunkov pass between mountain massifs of Moravian and Silesian Beskydy. It has an excellent accessibility: an international road, border crossings, an international railway line. The village was founded 600 or 700 years ago on an important trade route linking Silesia with Hungary. From that time remains of Šance are preserved in the village, which was serving as a bulwark against raids by Turks and Tartars. They are ruined now, but the floor plan, walls and trenches are still clearly discernible, and offers beautiful views. A football pitch and volleyball courts, tennis courts, gym and fitness center are available for sportsmen. People who enjoy swimming will welcome the opportunity to visit summer swimming pool right in the center of the village. Mosty is the starting point for hiking paths to Studeničné, Gírova or to the main ridge of the Moravian-Silesian Beskydy starting with Skalka, Severka and Velky Polom.
In the winter Mosty u Jablunkova offers good conditions for skiers - ski slopes right in the center of the village with a lighting and artificial snow. Construction of a chair lift to Skalka is being prepared to link with the well-known winter center Velký Polom-Severka. Maintained cross-country skiing trails are being prepared too.
