A small agricultural village in the foothills of the Beskydy Mountains near to the Kozubová mountain. The name Bocanovice probably aroused from the legend which describes an  unprecedented gathering of storks (in the local dialect bocan) for several years in the past. The stork is also the heraldry of the village. The first historic notice about the village is from 1597. Thanks to Bocanovice railway station are Bocanovice an ideal starting point for hikers, cyclists or cross-country skiers. Marked paths lead to the Kozubova and the Skalka mountains. The village is part of "Through the Těšín Silesia Euroregion" Czech-Polish cycling route circuit no.56 and two regional cycling routes circuits start here as well. Sporty people can use a football pitch and a tennis court.
